Making affordable cars safer

Tata’s finally seem to have finally got their strategy right - make safer, affordable and nice looking( YMMV) cars for Indian consumers.

Today’s news that upcoming Altroz scored 5 star rating as a part of NCAP crash testing. More on livemint.

Per this 2017 report, India on average witnesses 1274 accidents and 405 deaths every day or 53 accidents and 17 deaths every hour in the country with 25% of the accidents involving cars.

While the regulation itself is slow to demand stricter safety norms, it is encouraging now that car manufacturing companies are focusing on safety first even before the launch.
